Rood Screen in Holy Trinity Church

FOLSC

The Friends of Long Sutton Church (FOLSC) was established as a registered charity in 2005 to provide financial assistance to the Parochial Church Council for the maintenance of the structure of our very fine Grade 1 listed Holy Trinity church. The magnificent rood screen illustrated above is just one of the many gems in this special medieval building. The church authorities do not contribute to building maintenance costs and without our additional support, there is a strong likelihood the fabric of church building would deteriorate. FOLSC’s remit is to help with looking after the building and has no religious involvement whatever.

We have a small number of volunteer trustees who manage the activities of our charity; we are supported by our members who mainly live in Long Sutton and the surrounding villages and hamlets. New members are always most welcome. In addition to funds raised by membership contributions and donations, we organise a programme of events each year to raise the cash that looking after such an important elderly building entails.

Our aim is to have fun while raising money for an excellent cause!

FOLSC trustees have been hard at work putting together a full programme of events for 2011 which we hope will be enjoyable as well as raising funds for the fabric of our church. Whilst full details of each function will be published nearer the time, can we ask you to get your diaries out and reserve these dates to avoid any possibility of double booking!
